Rwanda TravelogueDay 2 - July 11, 2022Up around 8 am and had a bit of breakfast before being taken to JKIA for our flight to Rwanda. Plane was a Bombardier Q400 - 7 Club Class seats and 54 economy. In Club we started with the obligatory champagne - a nice way to begin the day. Flight was about 90 minutes. We got off the plane and were surprised to find that they had a specific transfer bus reserved for club class passengers, so we sat in lovely seats as they took us to the building. The airport was nearly empty and very well appointed - really lovely. We were through border control quickly and met by a driver from Primate Safaris who took us to the hotel - the Serena Kigali. Check-in was incredibly slow, despite us being the only guests arriving. Eventually got in and were taken to our room. We had to avoid any possibility of catching Covid since we were due to be tested 3 times to satisfy the requirements of the Rwandan government and Parks service, so we elected to eat in the room rather than risk a restaurant. |
