Rwanda Travelogue

Day 10 - July 19, 2022

We were due a very early start, meeting Tito at 5am for a birding trip. In the event our wake-up call due at 4:30 didn't happen and I woke up just past 5am. Much rushing about to get to Tito and we set off a bit late. We picked up our guide and arrived at the Buhanga Eco Park where we were due to look for birds. The park is an interesting place - it is where the coronation of the local kings occurred, possibly as early as the 11th century. It has myriad pathways though the forest made of cut lava. An interesting place to explore.

Unfortunately the birds were keeping themselves very much to themselves and I only managed to get a single photo of one - the rather common Cape Robin-chat. Still, it was a nice walk and loosened off our stiff muscles.

Back to the lodge to be offered a complementary massage for both of us that afternoon. That seemed like a great way to treat our muscles and we quickly agreed.

It was really nice. Mavis and I shared a massage suite, each with our own masseuse, who treated us for about an hour. Almost felt human at the end...

Finished the day by packing ready for departure the next morning.
